Waiting by the Sea Shore

Standing by the shore;
The tides hitting me more,

Washing away the dirt from my feet;
Still clinging on to what's underneath.

How do I set myself free?
I ask, "Will I ever be glee?"

The crimson sky engulfs the monstrous sea;
Exacting and taming the power of the moon.
The distant homecoming ship becomes blind to me;
I go back and wait for my sailor to rescue me soon.

The dilemma...

...Continued from :An Enigma yet to be Explored

How difficult is it for a person to go through different strokes of emotions every split second and to reincarnate those emotions again and again? Is it what a phoenix goes through when it rises from its own ashes and relives the cycle of birth and death again and again? Or is it simply, “self-destruction”?  Who would know it better than her?

Habitual of her perplexed mind, she looked back upon people to help her overcome her dilemma.

The dilemma!

We often hunt for a shoulder to cry on, to dump on our anguished grief only to later realize that resisting oneself to abrasions would only give way to self-vandalism. They were there to help her with the same old explication every time, “Oh, he is just not worth it.” All she could riposte was, “Well in that case you have failed to recognize the value of this person. “

….And they gave up on her.

No, she never gave up on her fears because giving up is not for a stubborn and obstinate person. If there is something she believes in, come whatever may, nothing could destroy her faith. While he had no belief, no faith! Not only their views but even their worlds were parallel to each other. He belonged to the world of actualities and realities, in conflict with her fictitious and utopian world. Any conversation, any argument could never come to a clinch between them.

If she starts narrating a part of her story, you would probably give in to the views of the shoulders she cried on and fill yourself up with loathe against him. But, that is not what she desires. Time and distance is what sets everything right and with time she realised the beauty of this soul. Compassion, sympathies and empathies, adoration and veneration started flowing in and she started loving every bit of this person.

An Enigma yet to be Explored

...Continued fromAn Aid to Uplift Her Spirits

No span of time, days, months or years is ample enough to acknowledge a person’s disposition. Sometimes we get what we want to see and hear what we want to listen. For her, he was an enigma yet to be explored while she, like an open book had made herself vulnerable to her reader. He read every page, every chapter of the book with much enthusiasm and just when he thought the end was near, a new chapter was added. The damage was done!

    The more she tried to understand him and his ways of dealing with things, the more she started understanding herself. She was all inquisitive and curious to perceive more about this person and she wouldn’t rest until she finds the answers to this riddle. He asks, “Why? Why do you want to know me? You cannot find the pieces of a wrecked ship in such a wide ocean. You build a new one. This is the new me!”  And she tries to convince him with a lie, “I don’t know, maybe because I consider you a friend and I could probably help you”, while deep inside she knew the answer. She has always been fascinated by mysteries.

     His deep and vehement eyes could hide any secret effortlessly and the more she tried to look into them, the more she found herself trapped inside them. Just like a restless kid who loses his way out while exploring a maze, even she had lost her way into those big and dark eyes and finding her way back was not easy. Even though he had a ridiculously strange laughter, his smile could easily compensate for all his foolish and moronic acts. Mesmerized by such a naïve smile, she always looked for reasons to make him smile. Reasons for which she sometimes had to abstain from her ‘self’ because, his smile was her euphoria.

For him, she was just another pretty girl damaged by her insecurities. He had seen plenty of them and an encounter with one more would do no harm.

An Aid to Uplift Her Spirits

So,I know, I have been away for a while for I was undergoing a writer's block lately. I had no idea what to write and even if I tried putting those words together, the result was a piece of crap. I realized I wanted to write something which was not my forte. What's the harm is trying something new, right? So, lets just say, I was busy writing a new chapter in my life. Enough said, I have finally come up with some small anecdotes which I plan to post every weekend until the chapter is closed.

In life, we often stumble across such junctures, where we find ourselves standing on the grey line, struggling upon which colour to choose, the black or the white hue. We find ourselves cribbing over truckloads of problems even if these problems consists of your boyfriend/girlfriend not giving you the right kind of attention, your parents being over-protective and sometimes even your constipated stomach seems to be the biggest problem of your life.

    Well yes, she had also gone through some major difficulties in life. Lost a loved one permanently, went through tough times when she had no body by her side and a lot more. It seemed to her that she was the only one piled on with oodles of problems but there was one thing that kept her going. Faith. Believe. A belief that, it’s going to be worth it in the end, for such situations only make us stronger and stronger. It kept her going. She soon became a happier person and gradually turned herself into a people’s pleaser for she started finding her share of happiness in people around her.

         A happy go lucky girl who would do anything to make her peers happy meets a guy who only knows how to keep himself happy, for he believes that people find a reflection of their happiness in yours. Poles apart, right?

        They say people step into your life to teach you something. Quoting, “All the world’s a stage and all Men and Women merely players. They have their exits and their entrances.” Just like his other friends whom he merely considers pieces of entertainment in his life, even she turned a blind eye to these lines simply as some cliché verse taken from Shakespeare’s famous poem, ‘All the world’s a Stage’. He tries to elucidate the importance of these lines while she stands there, awestruck by the way he could make things clear to her which even she once refused to accept. Call it manoeuvring, diplomacy or whatever you want, but for her, he became an aid to uplift her spirits.

Daddy's Little Girl Gets Inked

“My fingers may be small, but I can still wrap daddy around them”…

Daughters have always been showered with unconditional blessings from their fathers, thus they leave no stone unturned to show their love towards their daddy and getting a tattoo dedicated to your dad is a creative and innovative way of expressing your emotions. Gone are the days when daddy’s little princess were timid and reluctant to go under the needles. Once a compulsion for the illiterate village women then, to gudwana their husband’s name on their wrist, a sign to display their ownership, has now come in vogue with elaborate design and with more room for creativity. It’s been more than a decade since India started reviving the art of tattooing.
Coming back to daddy’s lil girl, a trend started by the Bollywood diva, Priyanka Chopra has taken a toll over the girls of the nation. She has always been admired for her confidence, good looks, acting skills and recently the lady has gained appreciation for the small little tattoo on her wrist dedicated to her daddy.

Flaunting the freshly inked tattoo on her wrist, Arpan Chauhan, a pampered daddy’s girl says, “The reason for getting this tattoo was to show my dad and the rest of the world that I love him more than any other soul in this world. He has and will always be my priority. Though this is something really tiny and cannot sum up my love for him but I know he will like it. He is my strength, my love, my life and I want the world to know that I love him a lot and will always keep doing so. Love u papa and just like this tattoo, I want my papa to stay with me forever.”
The moment that needle pierces into your skin, you know that this thing would last for the rest of your life. I personally believe that you must have a strong reason behind getting that dream tattoo. Like any other daughter’s, my dad was also my childhood hero, but few years back this hero turned into my angel. It has been six years since I lost my dad. I got this tattoo for him because I know he is there, watching over me, guiding me, protecting me from all evils. This is the least I could do for him
.
So all those girls who have been waiting out there, wondering how to put those words to make your daddy feel special, be bold and think differently this time, get a tattoo for your daddy.  This will all the more strengthen the bond you share. He was the one to teach you how to ride your first bicycle, the one to show you the world around on piggyback rides, the one to take you out on adventure trips, the one to fulfil all your demands and the one to always treat you like a real princess. Hence the saying,
“Even if I find my Prince Charming, my daddy will always be my King……”

Rape Her! What's Your Reason?

7th May, 2014

Flipping through the pages of a daily newspaper, I happened to find it again!

There it was. This small piece of news along with a customary picture and a familiar headline, “A 20 year old girl raped in the city- again!”

Ah Silly!

Why do they even bother to sell such news. It has become a trend in India. Men have gone all bonkers, uncivilised, boorish and they can afford to do so, thanks to our patriarchal society. Since they are the primary authority and sometimes have no control over their sexual desires, they can rape a girl and satisfy their hunger.

You foolish girl!

You were born in India, the modern India, as we likely call it. You have no other choice but to live in the fear of getting raped by a beast. Sure, keep a pepper spray in handy whenever you move out but they are out there, waiting for you. You manage to escape one but soon you will fall prey to some other brute.

Oh Girl!
Men have their own reasons for raping you. Given below are some:

  1. Well this girl wears short and tight clothes. She chooses Western culture over the Indian. She definitely has no morals and hence needs to be punished. Rape her!
  2. Oh! She is out with her boyfriend late at night. What a whore! She so wants to have fun! Rape her! Even better, let’s all rape her taking turns.
  3.  Yes! I am finally in a big city. This gives me ticket to rape a vulnerable city girl.
  4. Really? She works late at night in office. What do you think she does? Screwing her bosses? No morals I tell you. Rape her!
  5. Well, she has lots of guy friends and look, what if I cannot be one of them, I could definitely get close to her by raping her. She would then consider me a friend, right? Yes, you psycho, why not! J
  6.  She is my wife! I have my right on her. Consensual sex! Who cares? I fucking married her! This gives me the license to get her in my bed even if it calls for raping her!
  7. You wouldn’t rape a five year old, would you? Of course! Why not? She is after all nothing but a girl. She wears a frock, its short. She is carefree. She has a ‘V’ and will grow a pair of boobs in no years. I might as well rape her before someone else does. I have my own desires.

Oh! You filthy creature!

You talk about desires?

Ever wondered about the desires of a girl? You just didn’t stick your thing to her’s, you raped her innocence, her freedom,her dignity, her self respect, her future, her family. Yes, your desires raped her life!

But as I said, Men have their own reasons for raping you. They are out there trying to teach you some goddam morals.  Moreover, there are a few who back up the rapists with statements like, “Boys sometimes make mistakes, why hang them for such a mistake?” We totally get it! Even we made a mistake by not hitting his balls hard! But then we are women, remember? The weaker sections of the society ?

Well, now you get what's trending in India? So, what's your deal?What’s your reason for raping her?

An Interview with the Bengali beauty Rituparna Sengupta

1st March 2014, Lucknow
       Light-eyed Bengali beauty, Rituparna Sengupta, a famous Bollywood and a renowned Bengali actress stole the show as she walked down the ramp in an elegant white clad Chikankari saree for Umair Zafar’s premium collection during a fashion show in the city on March first, Saturday. Umair, a Mumbai based fashion designer who originally hails from Lucknow has designed the costumes for Rituparna in her upcoming movie, Tere Aane Se. I managed to steal a small talk session with the critically acclaimed actress. Her friendly attitude made it easier for me to keep the interview going.

Tell us something about your upcoming movie Tere Aane Se.
Ritu: Tere Aane Se is a love story which deals with a span of thirty years and how the lives of the characters change in these thirty years. It is directed by the famous Bengali director Agnidev Chatterjee and stars Purab Kohli and Hiten Tejwani. The costumes designed by Umair for the movie are beautiful and have a traditional touch to it and changes as the movie travels into spheres of decades.
We’ve heard you have some other bollywood projects lined up.
Ritu:  Yes, I do have a few bollywood films lined up this year. There is Kolkata Junction starring some brilliant actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Kay Kay Menon and Jimmy Shergil. Then there is a film by Hasnain Hyderabadwala of The Train fame.  Extraordi-Naari is another movie I am doing. It revolves around a woman who gets hold of ten girls and trains them for the modelling industry and I am the one playing the role of that woman(smiles).
You have been to Lucknow before. Your encounter with the city?
Ritu: What can I say about Lucknow? I have already said enough. Well Lucknow has always been an inspirational experience for me. I’ve done some good films here, like Mai, Meri Patni,…Aur Woh!  Where I play the role of a housewife along with my co-star Rajpal Yadav who plays the role of a librarian and we had shoots in almost every nooks and corners of the city. Whenever I am in the city, it seems as if I have travelled back to time with beautiful monuments all around, getting that Nawabi touch. It is a place full of love, culture, heritage and I love Lucknow.
And the Lakhnawi food and Chikankari?

Ritu: I am a huge fan of Lucknow’s exotic food. I have been here since two days and I could not get a chance to try the yummy kebabs but I have made it a point to eat some before I leave. I simply die over Tundey ke kebabs. And Chikankari always gives a beautiful flavour of elegance (flaunting her white chikan saree). I am disappointed as I could not shop for some tradional chikan clothes this time but they say,  you should always leave something for next time, so I am dropping my shopping plans for this trip so that I can come back again. All I can say is that Lucknow is simply magical.

Rituparna has always delivered brilliant performances be it Bollywood or Tollywood. I wish her all the success for her forthcoming movie Tere Aane Se.
